Motorsport Industry Association Canada is pleased to welcome Motorsport Safety Foundation to the MIAC membership family.  The Motorsport Safety Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving safety standards in motorsport. It is a community where the motorsport industry can come together and have a single voice, a place to share safety concerns and collaborate on research.

The charity, founded in honor of late professional racecar driver Sean Edwards, continuously works to amend those issues that can prevent another driver, crew member, marshal or even fan from serious injury or death

The Motorsport Safety Foundation believes that any step, no matter how small, can make an impact. Their team is constantly brainstorming ideas to keep those in the motorsport industry out of harm’s way. Each project we develop has only one goal in mind: to make racing as safe as possible. Please take a look at MSF initiatives to see what they are currently working on. If anything MSF is doing sparks your interest, they welcome you to collaborate with them on a project.

One such initiative is the CERTIFIED program.  In collaboration with leaders in the High-Performance Driver Education community, the Motorsport Safety Foundation has created standards for the selection, training and certification of high performance driving instructors.

How MSF can help the motorsport industry:
For the Canadian motorsport industry, the Motorsport Safety Foundation will address the growing problem of fragmented groups that are in need of having their ideas consolidated in one transparent place. All participants will have access to an open forum where they will be able to express their safety concerns, all with the objective to:

  • Promote motorsport safety education and awareness.
  • Create an online motorsport database of safety specialists and organizations.
  • Build a fundraising platform for safety-related projects.
  • Collaborate with accredited safety research entities.
  • Give drivers and participants a transparent network to voice their concerns.
  • Provide solutions to the safety issues from within our network.
